DOMA unveils masterplan for Newcastle Quay
DOMA is proud to unveil the masterplan for Newcastle Quay, a landmark waterfront precinct that will redefine Newcastle’s identity.
Selected by the NSW Government and The NSW Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC), we are honoured to be delivering this next chapter for the former Honeysuckle HQ site and Newcastle.
Designed to the standard of Australia’s most celebrated waterfront precincts, Newcastle Quay will become inseparable from the city’s identity – a transformative destination that draws visitors from across the east coast and signals Newcastle’s coming of age as a center for culture, commerce and community.
A prominent site within the Honeysuckle Precinct, front the Foreshore Promenade, Newcastle Quay will deliver:
- 1,000+ residential apartments
- 28,000m² of commercial office space
- 6,000m² of retail
- 180-room hotel with a 500-seat Conference & Exhibition Centre
- 11,000m² of activated open space including the new Honeysuckle Green park
Newcastle Quay will feature the largest number of buildings targeting Green Star certification across both Communities and Green Star Buildings rating tools of any precinct in the Newcastle Hunter region. Underpinning the development’s commitment to public life, the precinct will feature over 11,000m² of activated open space – including a new waterfront public park, Honeysuckle Green.
Central to the precinct is the heritage-listed Wickham School of Arts — serving as the civic heart of Newcastle Quay with a landscaped forecourt and ground-floor restaurants, bars and community events. Above, a world-class 500-seat Conference and Exhibition Centre, co-located with the hotel, will open Newcastle and the Hunter Region to a national and international audience for the first time, establishing the city as a major events destination.
