Construction of the luxury Huntington development at 35 Honeysuckle Drive will officially begin this Friday with the turning of the first sod.
Consisting of just 88 apartments and with space for six restaurants and cafes, Huntington is the only available development in Newcastle with absolute water frontage. It has unparalleled views from Nobbys Headland to the Newcastle Yacht Club and Marina.
“With construction to get underway this week, it is just 20 months before the first Huntington residents will move in,” DOMA General Manager of Development, Gavin Edgar said. “Demand has been strong since the development was released to the market, but we have seen another uptick in the last few weeks as we draw closer to construction starting and people can anticipate the project coming to life.
Over the past eight weeks, 10 of Huntington’s few remaining harbourfront apartments have changed hands, leaving just five absolute waterfront apartments for sale.
“DOMA’s Huntington has continued to outperform every sector of the Newcastle apartment market,” said Colliers Head of Residential Newcastle, Chris Chapman.
“Huntington has mirrored what we are seeing nationally in the off the plan apartment sales market. There is a targeted focus from buyers around absolute build and finishes quality and the best locations. Huntington ticks every box for discerning local buyers and an increasing number of buyers from Sydney and regional NSW. As Newcastle has matured as a city over the last six or seven years, so too has the desire for people to be able to acquire a premium waterfront apartment product and DOMA has been able to supply this end of the market with firstly Lume and now Huntington.
Valentina Misevska from the Hunter Central Coast Development Corporation will join Mr Edgar on Friday to ceremonially turn the first sod and formally kick off construction of the Huntington development. Also taking part in the ceremony and able to share details of the construction program will be Maurizio Rosin of Bloc.
