The award-winning Little National Hotel chain will expand beyond the east coast for the first time after receiving a greenlight for its planned Adelaide development.

Established by the Australian-based DOMA Group, Little National has carved out a niche in the local market as exceptionally located, affordable luxury accommodation.

“The original idea really was, and to a large extent still is, unique to the Australian market when it was conceived,” DOMA Director of Hotels, Patrick Lonergan said.

"What DOMA wanted to bring to the market were beautifully curated accommodation options located in prime positions at a ‘within reach’ price point. Somewhere people could stay for a short or long time with ease.”

The fourth hotel in the Little National chain is now set to open in Adelaide following its development approval last week.

“We are so excited about Little National Adelaide,” Mr Lonergan said. “We don’t take finding the perfect site for a Little National Hotel lightly. It takes months, if not years to secure just the right spot.

“There are no doubts that we have found that location in Adelaide.”

The Bates Smart designed Adelaide hotel occupies the whole of its 23-storey structure at 100 North Terrace. The 18 levels of hotel accommodation comprise 140 standard Little National Hotel Rooms, 26 ‘Big’ rooms and 48 one- and two-bedroom suites. The building is crowned by a two-storey private lounge and public bar, designed by renowned interior architects, Luchetti Krelle, both with 360-degree panoramic views of the Adelaide Hills, ocean and riverfront parkland.

“We believe Little National will not only be top of the list for visitors to Adelaide but provide a great new roofopt venue for locals to meet and spend time together,” Mr Lonergan said.

“A key aspect of the Little National concept is to encourage people to get out and enjoy the amenity surrounding them. This means walkability is key. Each property needs to be close to business centres, restaurants, cafes and recreational spaces.

“Little National Adelaide is centrally located within walking distance of the Convention Centre, Adelaide Oval and many of the cities most popular food and beverage precincts.

“As with all of our Little National hotels, there will be a focus in Adelaide on guest wellbeing and crafting welcoming, practical workspaces.”

Little National Adelaide will include a 250sqm commercial grade gym facility fitted with cutting-edge Technogym equipment and an exclusive Little National Hotel Lounge of a quality and amenity which exceeds the executive lounges of large 5-star hotels.  In a first for the brand, the rooftop bar will be open to the public with a dedicated lift and meeting rooms will also be provided on the first floor.

Construction of the hotel is scheduled to commence in late 2022 with expected completion in the second half of 2024.
