Prominent developer, DOMA has yesterday exchanged on a large 11,212sqm site that was marketed by Colliers International on behalf of the Suburban Land Agency in Woden.
While DOMA will shortly complete the transformational A&A development, it has no plans to ease back on its contribution to the revitalisation of the Woden Town Centre after formalising the sale documentation for the site across the road.
“We have a strong connection with Woden Town Centre having developed a significant amount of office at Aviation House, the Department of Health Building and now A&A, along with apartments and retail,” DOMA Managing Director, Jure Domazet said.
Part of DOMA’s attraction to projects in Woden is its central location, ensuring homes and workplaces are convenient to all that Canberra has to offer.
“I am proud our vision for A&A is coming to fruition,” Mr Domazet said. “We are creating the best amenity in Woden in an area that has traditionally only been a strong office and employment core. We will soon have a gym, pub, small offices, restaurants and personal services businesses opening up, as well as a terrific childcare centre. We look forward to welcoming our new owners to their apartments at A&A in the coming weeks as the project nears completion.
“Greater residential development in this area adds people and activity, enlivening the area seven days a week and consolidating Woden as a must-visit destination.
“This new development off Melrose Drive and adjacent to A&A will allow us to deliver another
480 residential apartments across three stages in this high-amenity location, capitalising on the views and great walkability offered by the Woden Town Centre.
“With only 480 apartments proposed on such a large site, our masterplan enables deep rooted landscaping to a central open space as well as generous and considered separation of buildings providing all apartments with great light, outlook and privacy. said Mr Gavin Edgar, Doma’s General Manager of Development.
“DOMA has a long-held desire to help attract more employment to Woden, so we have also made provision for a large PCA ‘A’ grade office building suited to government to be developed on the site.”
